Retreat, Lecture, and Workshop Locations

Jake has been called to deliver retreats, lectures, and workshops by the following spiritual retreat centers, college/university programs, and community centers. He has also been a live-in community member, artist-in-residence, and guest chef at several of these locations.


Ghost Ranch - Abiquiu, New Mexico

Situated in a stunning desert landscape, Ghost Ranch is a multi-faith and ecumenical retreat center whose natural location adds a contemplative depth to any retreats held there. The great American painter, Georgia O'keeffe, was greatly inspired by this place. 


Stony Point Center - Stony Point, NY

Stony Point Center is a 32-acre retreat facility located about 30 miles NW of NYC in the Hudson Valley. We believe in the possibilities of change and that the arc of history is indeed bending toward justice. Groups come here to reflect, recharge and reconnect; to plan, execute and train; to create, commune and collaborate.


Cobblestone Springs - Dundee, NY

Planted in the Finger Lakes area of upstate New York, this spiritual retreat house, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is open to all peoples and religious beliefs. It is peaceful and earthy, as it is surrounded by farmland and close to Seneca Lake.


St. Joseph Renewal Center - Saint Augustine, FL

Located in the Old Town of the nation's oldest city, across from the Sisters of St. Joseph Motherhouse, is the St. Joseph Renewal Center. This serene sanctuary features a peaceful courtyard with native Florida plants and unique stained glass windows in the gathering places.


The Priory Spirituality Center - Lacey, WA

The Priory Spirituality Center encourages people of all faiths to seek and discern the voice of God in their lives and in the world. It is a ministry of St. Placid Priory that reflects the Benedictine values of peace, hospitality, community, learning and prayerful discernment. It encourages and challenges people to know the presence of God in their lives through classes, workshops, and retreats.

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, University of Washington, Seattle

OLLI-UW courses inquire into diverse subjects ranging from geology to the arts, from health science research to philosophy and literature. Courses are led by current and retired UW faculty, professors from other colleges, scholars, and experts in their field.


Emerald Heights - Redmond, WA

Emerald Heights is a not-for-profit, retirement living community with more than 550 residents. It provides stimulating social, environmental, spiritual and intellectual programs and services for their residents.

The Hearthstone at Green Lake - Seattle, WA

The Hearthstone is a down-to-earth, not-for-profit, senior community that is focused on healthy living; it offers residents stimulating lectures and lifelong learning classes in close proximity to one of Seattle’s most beloved lakeside parks.


Greymoor Spiritual Life Center - Garrison, NY

The Greymoor Spiritual Life Center is in the Lower Hudson River Valley and is a part of the Greymoor Monastery of the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement. Built at the top of a hill, this beautiful monastic center overlooks the scenic landscape of the Hudson Valley and has many restful places to contemplate and worship.


Grunewald Guild - Leavenworth, WA

The Grünewald Guild is an arts education nonprofit retreat center nestled on 16 acres of Cascadian woodland, bordered by the Wenatchee River in the Plain Valley of Washington. Snowcapped peaks, rushing waters and sweet smelling ponderosa pine welcome, inspire, and create an environment in which people come to learn, to grow, and to explore the relationships between art, faith and community.


San Pedro Retreat Center - Winter Park, FL 

The San Pedro Retreat Center sits in the midst of beautiful tropical vegetation and lakefront vistas in central Florida.  It has a stunning chapel, a labyrinth, a boardwalk through the swamp, and a contemplative pier.  It hosts the well-known Roads Scholar program that offers unique courses on art, literature, and religious figures. 


Westminster - Winter Park and Orlando, FL

These two Presbyterian-based residences for seniors are located on serene lakes in Winter Park and Orlando, Florida.  


Rollins College Lifelong Learning - Winter Park, FL

In the heart of downtown Winter Park, Rollins College offers a Lifelong Learning program on its campus taught by esteemed professors and artists for local senior residents.
